The Pratishthan :
The pratishthan was established by Padmashree Dr. Dy. Patil in 1984 with the aim of providing education in all fields, thus spreading education to deserving students & thereby helping them to realize their dreams of career in professional courses. It runs several institutes in navi Mumbai, Pune & kolhapur in engineering, architecture, hospitality, management, pharmacy, etc. There are total 74 institutes in the Pune academic complex.
Pune is a city of great historical importance. It flourished during the rule of Shivaji, the Founder of the Maratha Dynasty in India & grew during the Peshwa rule. It is situated at a height of 575 meters above sea level on the Deccan Plateau in the Sahyadri Ranges. Pune is a green & picturesque city surrounded by verdant hills. As it has a large number of reputed Educational & Research institutes, it is known as the “ Oxford of the East”. It is just a two hour drive from Mumbai by the expressway & 20 minutes by air.
The D.Y. Patil Pratishthan’s Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Polytechnic is located at a distance of 20 km from Pune airport, 15 km from Pune railway station & near Pimpri railway station. It is well connected to Pune city both rail & road & is situated on the Mumbai Pune expressway.
Pune has a salubrious round the year & hence it is called the “ Queen of Deccan”. The temperature vary from 38 degrees C in Summer & 5 Degrees C (min) in winter. The monsoon is mild & lasts for three months.
